Carousel Theatre of Indianola is a volunteer non-profit group so we're always looking for three things:
Volunteers
Materials
Funding
Volunteers
Putting on a show takes a lot work, and to make our shows a success we need your help! Below is a list of just some of the jobs available
- Directors and assistant directors
- actors
- set construction
- lighting and sound
- ticket booth and ushers
- stage manager and backstage hands
- costumes
- props
Not all shows require all these people and some shows require more than others. If you're interested in helping out with any of these or if you just want to lend a hand give us a call or send an email!
Materials
Our productions not only require people, but also a set, props, costumes and occasionally special effects. Below is a list of things we're always needing for a show:
Lumber or plywood
paint
screws, nails, nuts and bolts
Actually, you'd be surprised by what we use in a set. Got some paint sitting around that you don't want but is still usable, some lumber or screws left over from a project, or some odds and ends you don't know what to do with? Give us a call or send us an email!
Funding
Before we even start practicing, Carousel Theatre will spend a large part of the production budget in obtaining the license and rights to produce the show and buying or renting the scripts for the show. The more well-known and popular shows are very exspensive, and to help offset the costs so we can continue to produce quality shows we're always looking for sponsors and donations! Best yet, because we are a state approved non-profit organization, your monetary support is a charitable donation. Receipts can be provided upon request for tax purposes. Interested?
